My primary no-nonsense free host is down!

Oh please www.thefilebin.com, why did you have to die? You're doing so great!

Now we're facing this problem of having all the pictures in the site removed. I won't be putting all them up again or change all the links... that's simply too much work.

I'm looking for an alternative. Photobucket.com sounds nice. What do you think?

Penny Arcade got it right!

Following the Next-Gen consoles in this E3 has been immensely tiring. There's simply too much bullshit around.

Rejected 'Love is...' comics

The good people syndicating 'Love Is..' comics recently ran a contest where fans of the long-running strip could submit their own takes on this time-honored classic. This was taken by some to mean that there was an interest in changing or at least shifting the sensibility of the comic, one of the great one-panel strips in cartooning history.

This notion was mistaken. In fact, contained herein are some stabs that very narrowly skirted legal action.

All I have to say about this is that they are awesome! Just what love actually is.

Penny Arcade's Fruit Fucker comics pack for the PSP

I picked up a new memory stick for my PSP over the weekend and I’ve been loading it with goodies. I’ve had a few requests for some special PSP packs with PA comics formatted for the PSP screen. I had some time today and so I whipped up a little Fruit Fucker pack. You can download it right here. Essentially it’s all the Fruit Fucker comics and I’ve taken the time to re-size them so they fit perfectly on the PSP screen. Check it out and let me know if this is cool. In the future we could release other packs like my favorite strips or Tycho’s or maybe a sort of readers top fifty or one hundred or whatever. Send me your thoughts.

You can get the 600 kb file from there, but it requires registration. So I've hosted the file for you here. There are nine comics in the zip file.

Enjoy!

Batman: The Killing Joke

Some guy wrote a comment telling me about his putting up Scans of comics in http://www.undergroundpad.com/. Currently, there's only Batman's "The Killing Joke" available in the Downloads section. Registration required. The file is 13 MB.

"For nearly a quarter of a century, visionary writer Alan Moore has pushed the limits of what is possible to achieve in the comics medium. With his ground breaking work on such titles as Watchmen and V for Vendetta, Moore redefined visual narrative in the 1980s. His unique talents continue to grow, unabated, to the present day."

With Batman: The Killing Joke, Moore and collaborator Brian Bolland deliver a stunning reimagination of one of comics' most famous adversarial pairings. In retelling the origin of the Dark Knight's nemesis, The Killing Joke explores not only the cruelty and absurdity of fate, but also the resilience of humanity in the face of it. This book, along with A Death in the Family is a must have for a person's Batman collection.
